| About My Self | Vision | Contact |
I have been working in the IT industry since I graduated in 1997, or even longer if I counted the time when I worked part-time during my study. I have experiences in a very wide area of IT: infrastructure, network, security, software development, quality assurance, eLearning, project management; from entry level (engineers) until management level. I am also right now learning new concepts, such as Business Process Management (BPM), IT Governance and Project Management.
I consider my self as generalist with strong technical capabilities. My experiences allow me to see problem from various perspectives and offer a complete solution. My skills allow me to communicate and work with any divisions of IT department with ease. I understand what they are talking about and I am also able to communicate what I want.
My skills somehow were best utilised to put off the fire. However I prefer to use my skills and experience to prevent problems in the future. If a problem can be avoided, let's avoid it. Do not wait for the 'fire' to break out.
I also consider myself to be able to translate business objectives to real and usable applications. This is something what I want to do in the future, if I have a chance. I have a vision on what IT should be (refer to the Vision section below).
Between my hectic schedule, I enjoy reading and listening to music, any kind of musics as long as I like it. For the reading, I like to read anything as long as it is a non-IT subject. I read comics, novel, history, politic, etc. I also like to discuss anything under sun, from history to politic, from hobby to technology, from food to cooking. Oh yea, I also enjoy cooking, but I am not a good cook and I usually cook simple dishes :-)
A full CV is available upon request.
To me, Information Technology (IT) Department should not impose restrictions to the business. IT MUST be used to enable and support the business, not to restrict the business. To me hardware, and for some extent software, are out there to be used. The biggest problem with any IT Department is the brainware: how to choose the right person to do the works.
